Valladolid is set to add 211 affordable homes through two public housing schemes involving a combined investment of almost €32 million.
Spain’s Ministry of Housing and Urban Agenda will invest €25 million through Casa 47 to build 161 public homes on Calle Universo. The properties will be affordable and permanently protected, on land originating from Sareb.
Casa 47 is also progressing with the redevelopment of the former La Rubia military barracks into affordable housing, with the demolition project expected to be awarded shortly.
Meanwhile, the Junta de Castilla y León is investing almost €7 million in 50 collaborative rental homes for residents under 36 on Calle Mieses. The scheme, promoted by SOMACYL, is being built on a site owned by Valladolid City Council and includes shared facilities such as coworking, laundry and meeting spaces.
The Mieses development is part of a wider programme of 393 young-rental homes in Valladolid. A further 170 homes at Parque Alameda are due to be delivered in 2026, while 114 homes at Parquesol are scheduled for 2027.
The regional government is also working with Valladolid City Council on the transfer of land that could support a further 800 homes.
The latest projects form part of a broader public housing drive in Castilla y León. The central government says it has invested more than €670 million in housing policies across the region since Pedro Sánchez became Prime Minister, mobilising more than 16,500 homes. In Valladolid, investment has reached €72 million, supporting more than 4,000 homes.
The Junta also allocated €53.9 million in rental subsidies in 2025, benefiting 22,137 people and families across the region.
