Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML) is to put eight properties up for public auction on 9 July, with a total starting price of €14.58 million. The auction forms part of the restructuring plan initiated by the institution in 2024, which provides for the disposal of real estate assets and shareholdings deemed non-core.
Five of the properties up for auction are located in Lisbon, one in Almada, one in Seixal and one in Sintra. The values range from €121,025 to €9,915,000.
In Lisbon, the starting bids exceed one million euros: a 14-storey building on Avenida José Malhoa, in Campolide, for €9,515,000; another seven-storey building on Rua dos Sapateiros, in the parish of Santa Maria Maior, for €1,134,350; and a plot of land on Rua Leandro Braga, in Campolide, currently undeveloped but with plans for 603 sqm of gross floor area, for €1,053,210.
The two remaining properties in the municipality of Lisbon are a four-storey building on Rua de São Mamede, in the parish of Santa Maria Maior, up for auction at €885,843, and a four-storey building on Calçada do Lavra, in the parish of Santo António, for €895,420.
SCML is also auctioning a four-storey building in Praça do Comércio, Almada, with a reserve price of €688,161; a one-bedroom flat of 53 sqm, on Praceta João de Barros in Arrentela, Seixal, for €121,025; and a two-bedroom house with a total plot area of 818 sqm, on Rua das Flores, in Sintra, for €287,171.
“The implementation of this measure will enable SCML to generate returns on its assets through strategic management focused on efficiency and rationality, making a significant contribution to the recovery of the institution’s financial position, as well as to strengthening responses in the areas of Health and Social Care,” said SCML.
This is SCML’s second public auction this year. In February, the institution put 12 properties up for auction, with a total reserve price of €8.1 million, but several of them will be offered again after remaining unsold.
