Node Spain is now operating as Episode following Esteve Almirall’s buyback of the shares that had remained in the hands of other shareholders since Node’s entry in 2021. With this transaction, the platform begins a new phase as an independent operator in Spain within the flex living segment.
The company currently operates more than 1,600 beds and has 3,500 units under development, with a portfolio exceeding €800 million in assets under management. Added to this base is an exclusive pipeline of more than 4,500 beds, valued at €1.2 billion, as well as a further €500 million in assets currently under negotiation.
Episode focuses on flexible urban accommodation aimed at people with job mobility, students and international talent, in a context where residential demand in major cities is increasingly seeking more flexible stays and streamlined check-in processes.
The platform operates in Barcelona and Madrid. In the capital, it has over 900 units in Carabanchel, while in both cities it offers various flexible accommodation options.
The model combines real estate and hospitality through private, furnished and equipped spaces – with utilities and Wi-Fi included – integrated services and communal areas. Compared to traditional rentals, the concept aims to cut red tape and make it easier for users to settle into a new city.
Looking ahead to the next two years, Episode plans to open new locations in Barcelona and Madrid. To drive this growth, the company operates a multi-capital, multi-developer model, enabling it to collaborate with institutional partners specialising in property investment and development, including Bain Capital.
