Grupo ABU will start selling 18 homes of Las Esclavas, its first residential development in Málaga city, on 20 October. The company has reduced the number of units from the 22 allowed under the detailed planning study, to prioritise larger floor areas, terraces and sea views.
The scheme will be built on a 9,523 sqm plot between Hacienda Paredes and Calle Juan Valera, in the city’s Este district. Its elevated position shapes the layout of the complex and allows the homes to face the sea.
The project was designed by L35 Architects, the international practice behind the refurbishment of the Santiago Bernabéu stadium and the transformation of Roma Termini station. The firm has designed five stepped blocks that adapt to the topography and free up part of the site for gardens, courtyards and footpaths.
The development will offer two, three and four-bedroom homes, with private gardens on the ground floors and large terraces on the upper levels. Some units will also have a private swimming pool. Communal areas will include a swimming pool, gym and landscaped gardens.
The site has road links and access to the city centre and the beach. A new road will also connect two parts of the city that currently have limited links.
The project is part of Grupo ABU’s strategy on the Costa del Sol. The company has more than 150,000 sqm of buildable land in the surrounding area, where it plans to develop more than 1,000 homes across projects on sale and in the pipeline, with an estimated business volume of more than €500 million.
