The French group SMAC has acquired Acieroid, a Spanish company specialising in building envelope solutions, as part of its strategy for international growth and expansion in the domestic market. The value of the transaction has not been disclosed.
Founded over 60 years ago, Acieroid develops solutions for façades, roofs and other building envelope systems in tertiary, commercial, industrial, logistics and office buildings. Following the acquisition, it will continue to operate under its own brand, although it will now draw on SMAC’s expertise in energy-efficient refurbishment, waterproofing and roof maintenance.
The acquisition coincides with the appointment of José Florido as CEO of the Spanish company, from where he will lead this new phase and the development of the business in the country.
Acieroid provides technical consultancy from the initial stages of projects and works with architects, engineering firms, developers and construction companies on the design and execution of building envelopes. Its integration will enable SMAC to expand its operations in Spain through a company already established in various property and construction sectors.
The statement issued by José Florido highlights the opportunity to strengthen capabilities and maintain relationships with clients and partners, although the company has not yet provided details of its growth targets, the planned investment volume or any potential changes to the operational structure.
