Logistic platform delivered to Carrefour
Merlin Properties handed the key of one of the largest logistic warehouses in Spain to Carrefour. The platform has 98.757 sqm and is located within the Azuqueca de Henares municipality (Guadalajara). Carrefour will thus use this asset for low rotation products, large household appliances and textiles to support the rest of its logistic network and the more than 1.200 stores in Spain.
The warehouse, built by GSE España, was constructed following sustainability criteria and as such it received the LEEDv4 Platinum certification, the highest that can be awarded to an asset. Carrefour Property Cargo was charged with the technical accompaniment from construction to the delivery by Merlin Properties to Carrefour.
«This is one of the largest key-in-hand projects in the market right now, which reinforces the company’s clear bet on a segment with great potential to grow in our country. Also, as its LEED certification shows, it is a reference in terms of sustainability», said Luis Lázaro, Managing Director of Retail and Logistics at the REIT.
The platform will have a total 196 loading docks, 659 parking spots and 12.5 metre headroom.
