The vibrant environment of the national tourism conquer the attention of the big players of the hotel sector that either reinforce their presence or debut with the first units. This is the case of Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, one of the main hotel chains in Spain, which will inaugurate its first unit in Portugal in 2020 with 86 rooms, a garden, an indoor pool, SPA, meeting rooms and other services.
In a statement, Federico Holzmann, Director of Expansion of Catalonia Hotels & Resorts, acknowledges that entry into the Portuguese market was "an old ambition" and reveals that "we are still looking for new opportunities, both in Oporto and in Lisbon". For Federico Holzmann, "both cities are a destination of great tourist interest and with enormous potential for profitability".
This first project represents an investment of €14 million, which includes, among other services, the acquisition of five real estates in the historic area of Oporto and the renewal works. This is also a great project for Lucios that will provide Catalonia Hotels & Resorts with a turnkey project.
