Medical technology company Becton Dickinson (BD), has announced its intention of acquiring a terrain from the Zaragoza Town Hall to install its fourth production plant in Spain.
This new installation will allow BD to produce medical devices so as to meet the industry and its patients’ growing demand. The new production plant is expected to be operational by the end of 2023.
According to the forecast advanced by the company, the new plant it seeks to install in Zaragoza would have an initial staff of 150 people and an area of 8.000 sqm. It is expected that by 2030 the plant will employ around 600 people and will have an area of 30.000 sqm. Total investment for this operation will be around 165 million euro.
Town Hall’s terrain auction
The Town Hall auction joined in a single plot a total of eight parcels for industrial use owned by the municipality within the Empresarium complex which form the Manzana 4. The auction will sell the asset to the highest bid, with price being the only criteria for adjudication. In total, the terrains have a combined area of 102.421 sqm and a buildable area of 87.058 sqm.
Nevertheless, company sources clarified that, «the numbers announced by the Town Hall are provisional», we have to wait for the auction, on April 20.
