The portfolio of the Bankinter's socimi now has more than twenty hotels in Spain, according to the hotel group's reported to the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV).
The hotels acquired by Atom are the Meliá Sevilla, Sol La Palma and Sol Jandía Mar. The assets of the Canary Islands are located in Santa Cruz de Tenerife and Fuerteventura, while the Sevillian is located within the own capital of Seville. The sale has given to Meliá a capital gain of €6.6 million.
The commitment of capex by Atom is about €20.2 million, which allows the repositioning of these hotels. The operation has been sealed with a sale lease and back operation with rental contracts for periods of five years, with a maximum of four extensions. The variable income will be 25% of the total income.
For Atom, the purchase expects to overcome already the twenty hotels in Spain. The company was created with the acquisition of a portfolio of the Atitlán fund and a dozen institutions that were left out of the transfer operation of Hi Partners, a subsidiary of Banco Sabadell, to Blackstone, after paying €600 million.
