The terrain has a buildable area of 24.800 sqm for housing use and is located in Madrid, next to the Atocha railway station, Méndez-Álvaro bus station and the M-30 motorway.
In the same tender, Adif bought a smaller terrain, around 9.700 sqm, which had been adjudicated to co-op management company Libra GP for 26 million euro, 36% higher than the starting bid.
Besides Acciona Inmobiliaria and Libra there were six other companies interested in the tender: Grupo Lar, Vía Ágora, Pryconsa, Ikasa, Grupo Ibosa and Domo, which were unable to win any of the terrains being auctioned.
With these two transactions, Adif will receive 96.6 million euro, which represents a 27% increase when compared to the starting bid the managing company had suggested initially. The company intends to use this money to invest in railway infrastructures.
The company has ongoing real estate lease of land tenders in Toledo, Guadalajara and Barcelona for a total annual rent of 800.000 euro for the construction and operation of railway maintenance facilities.
