The European Union is not yet fully adapted to the new international landscape. Europe must accept that today’s world no longer fits the framework of the second half of the 20th century and prepare for a more unstable environment. This adaptation requires developing greater military capabilities of its own and reducing its historical dependence on the United States in matters of security.
