Eurofund Group and Frey have joined forces to create Promenade Lleida, a retail and leisure park in which they will invest more than 100 million and which is their first joint project
Located on the grounds of the Torre Salses area, just 1.5 km from the center of Lleida, the complex will have 55,500 square meters in the open air, where the brands will have very spacious premises, with high ceilings. and visitors will enjoy an open environment, with a varied leisure offer for the whole family and more than 2,300 parking spaces.
The project, which is scheduled to open its doors in 2023, has been designed by the Broadway Malyan architecture studio taking into account all the measures to be sustainable and its construction will follow the criteria of the demanding and prestigious Breeam certification, which will be requested once works are finished.
Thus, certified wood will be used and earthworks will be carried out with the cut and fill system, to make it as sustainable and efficient as possible. The roofs will be covered with photovoltaic panels to generate electricity, and there will be recharging points for electric vehicles, recycling centers and a water pond to irrigate the 20,000 square meters of green areas and the more than 1,000 trees that are will plant, the majority of native species. In addition, the promoters have assured to be willing "to assume the financing of the infrastructures that would correspond to the municipality".
As explained by Salvador Arenere, partner and director of the Eurofund Group, Promenade Lleida represents "the largest private investment made in Lleida, and the will of both partners with this project is to "avoid the current leakage of purchases to other cities (which is calculated in 500 million euros per year, according to municipal studies) and also stop Internet shopping, which is affecting small businesses in the area".
Its promoters estimate that it will generate about a thousand jobs, 400 of them direct.
Confirmed operators
The 90 operators for which the complex has capacity will be "a mixture of leading local and international brands" —according to Frey—, and will be led by a hypermarket operated by the Catalan group Bonpreu and a multiplex cinema with 1,000 seats.
They have also confirmed their presence at the Ilusiona complex, specializing in youth and family entertainment, which will open a large center with a bowling alley, virtual reality experiences and 4D cinema, areas to celebrate children's birthdays and game rooms for all ages. As well as Sakito, the bazaar with an offer of all kinds of products, and Fitness Park, a chain of gyms with more than 230 clubs.
