Dior has already opened its first shop in Portugal, in the Alegria One building on Avenida da Liberdade in Lisbon. The Parisian luxury brand's new space covers more than 1,000 square metres.
Tiago Eiró, CEO of EastBanc Portugal, which owns the building, believes that "the opening of Dior in Alegria One is a milestone in our mission to revitalise Lisbon. This building has become a key part of the redefinition of Avenida da Liberdade, demonstrating our commitment to urban regeneration".
Alegria One is one of EastBanc Portugal's most recent urban regeneration projects, having received an Honourable Mention in the National Urban Rehabilitation Award 2023 in the category of "Best Intervention for Commercial Use and Services".
"It's not just a space, but a statement of commitment to excellence," EastBanc said in a statement. "This building is a synthesis of history and modernity. Erected at the end of the 19th century, it has been meticulously transformed, preserving its essence while adapting to the demands of modern times. This project, signed by architect Eduardo Souto de Moura, is more than a structure, it is a living testimony to the capacity for urban revitalisation."
