Cordoba, the new setting for a major retail and leisure development planned by Batex & Duplex, which will cover more than 60,000 square metres. The company has announced an investment of 92 million euros for this project, located on the city's Levante axis. This development will include a Retail Park and a leisure and entertainment complex, with the forecast to generate 1,200 jobs and meet the demand of more than 300,000 residents less than 15 minutes away.
The project, which has been in development for over a year, is focused on offering proximity, proximity and convenience, complemented by a leisure offer currently not found in Cordoba. The location chosen for this development is strategically situated next to the A-4 Madrid-Cádiz motorway, offering easy access to the province's 800,000 inhabitants.
Work on the Cordoba retail and leisure park is expected to begin in the first half of next year, with the opening scheduled for the end of 2025. The land earmarked for this development is already classified for use as a large retail space.
Batex & Duplex, which specialises in the development of retail space, has invested close to 140 million euros in the last three years in various projects, including the acquisition of the MyO Gandía Retail Park, where an extension is currently underway, and the development of projects such as Estepona Park and the Trocadero Retail Park in Puerto Real, Cádiz.
Rafael Franco, CEO of Batex & Duplex, has stated that this new development "will allow us to stop the significant cost leakage of Cordovan shoppers to other towns with more attractive and complete shopping areas than those in Cordoba". The final approval of the project depends on the finalisation of the agreements with the owners of the land and the willingness of the Cordoba City Council.
Batex & Duplex has a portfolio of ten projects in various locations in Spain, which it plans to develop over the next four years as part of its long-term strategy.
