The Basque Government has announced that before the summer there will be a public tender for plot DB-3, a plot of land in the area of expansion of the Bilbao estuary, on which it is planned to build around 300 homes, according to Crónica Vasca.
The price of the plot would be around 40 million euros and it is expected that promoters such as Neinor, Amenabar or Aedas will compete to acquire the land. The ownership of the land corresponds to Visesa, the public company of the Basque Government.
As stated in various public documents, the plot located in the area attached to the island of Zorrotzaurre has an assigned building area above ground of 29,215 sqm for construction, distributed in free residential use with an area of 26,890 sqm and 2,325 sqm in commercial use. Likewise, this plot has assigned a building area below ground of 16,899 sqm of construction.
The Zorrotzaurre project is the latest major urban regeneration operation launched in Bilbao. It represents a comprehensive and sustainable plan, which recovers a currently degraded space to turn it into a new Bilbao neighborhood well connected with the rest of the city, equipped with accessible housing, areas for business establishment, as well as social and cultural facilities.
