Sareb has closed a transaction with the Government of Catalonia, through the Catalan Land Institute (Incasòl), for the sale of 137 homes for social renting. The total value of this transaction is 9.6 million euros.
These homes are located in various municipalities, with the most notable acquisition in Vilanova i la Geltrú (Barcelona) by Incasòl. In this municipality, 98 homes, 7 business premises, 169 parking spaces and 141 storage rooms have been acquired, all part of a development that has been unfinished since 2007, with 82% of construction completed.
In order to qualify them for social renting, the new owner will carry out the refurbishment of the development, adapting the interior layouts to current regulations, finalising the communal areas and activating the private and communal installations.
Once suitable, the Catalan Housing Agency will be responsible for allocating these homes to families registered in the Register of applicants for subsidised housing, following the criteria established with Vilanova i la Geltrú Town Council.
In addition to these homes in Vilanova i la Geltrú, the agreement includes properties in Tarragona, specifically in Valls (20 homes in two developments) and in Constantí (19 homes).
During 2023, Sareb has sold Incasòl a total of 146 homes and 471 assets, including land, premises, storage rooms and garages in different municipalities. Incasòl is evaluating the possible acquisition of 9 additional developments from Sareb, comprising approximately 200 homes, as part of the collaboration framework between the two entities.
