Promiris has announced the development of a student residence in the heart of Madrid that will offer a total of 400 units following the acquisition of the land. The property will cover a total area of 10,500 sqm and will be located in the San Blas-Canillejas district, benefiting from good connections to the capital’s main university hubs.
The project, described by the company as “a modern, fully equipped student residence in the very heart of the Spanish capital’s student district”, is scheduled for completion in 2028.
Designed by the architectural firm DN arquitectura, the PBSA project is being developed as part of its partnership with BESIX RED Portugal, announced last July, to launch a portfolio of projects comprising nearly 2,000 rooms across various university towns in the region.
As part of this agreement reached with Besix Red Portugal, the first PBSA property, located in Zaragoza, is set to be ready for the start of the academic year in September this year. It has a total floor area of 5,457 sqm and 180 rooms and will be operated under the Odalys brand.
With a roadmap that envisages all projects being delivered in phases by the end of 2028, the developments in Alicante, scheduled for 2027, as well as those in Murcia and Valencia, both for 2028, are added to the initiatives mentioned above. In total, including all projects in Spain, Promiris will bring 2,074 student accommodation units to the market, with a combined floor area of 44,977 sqm.
In Portugal, the company has developments in Coimbra, Porto and Lisbon, totalling 638 rooms. Whilst those in Lisbon and Porto have already been delivered, the Coimbra project is scheduled for delivery in 2028, in line with the company’s developments in Spain.
