In its Market Report Portugal, which analyses real estate transactions brokered by the German multinational in the 2022-2023 period in the real estate markets, Engel & Völkers reveals which parishes in Lisbon have the highest prices per square metre.
In first place, the luxury residential and commercial property broker points to Parque das Nações as the most expensive area in the capital: the modern neighbourhood, which stands out for its contemporary architecture and wide variety of options, is currently one of the most sought-after neighbourhoods for renting. The price in this area is around €8883/sqm, according to Engel & Völkers.
Next comes the Avenidas Novas neighbourhood, an area characterised by spacious flats, popular with professionals from the middle and upper middle classes. Its proximity to the old town makes this neighbourhood a very attractive place to live. The price in this area is around €5548/sqm.
Located in the historic part of the city, the Estrela neighbourhood is traditionally an area inhabited by the upper class, which enjoys surprising tranquillity even though it is located in the heart of the city. The price in this area is around €5246/sqm.
Also in the parish of Santa Maria Maior, located in the heart of Lisbon and home to the capital's most emblematic neighbourhoods, the price per square metre in this area is around 5068 euros. Lastly, there's the Belém area, considered a privileged place to live due to its surroundings. The price per square metre in this area is around 4855 euros.
