Madrid City Council is building 120 affordable rental homes in Parque de Ingenieros, in the Ciudad de los Ángeles neighbourhood. This is a growing area in the district of Villaverde, where the Council is investing heavily in housing, energy rehabilitation and urban regeneration. This was highlighted yesterday by the delegate of the Housing Policy Area and president of the Municipal Housing and Land Company (EMVS), Álvaro González, who, accompanied by the managing director of the EMVS, Diego Lozano, visited the works on the development that the public company is building in this area.
With an investment of more than 12.9 million euros, Ingenieros 1 has 120 homes, five of which are adapted for people with reduced mobility. The homes, whose construction will be completed in the first quarter of 2024, are distributed in two bedrooms (43), three (65) and four (12) and will have a rental price that will never exceed 30% of the family unit's income. In addition, the development has 163 parking spaces and a development with a children's play area and green areas for the enjoyment of the residents.
Ingenieros 1, like the rest of the new developments of the municipal company, has an A energy rating thanks to its insulation, its SATE envelope, aerothermal system for the production of solar DHW and underfloor heating and cooling, which lowers the bill for tenants and cares for the environment.
Other actions in Villaverde
The EMVS currently has 32 developments underway, which will involve the construction of 2,693 new homes for affordable rent, and has a portfolio of 10,000 homes in different phases. In addition to being the largest public developer in Spain, it carries out urban regeneration actions in different areas, which improve the lives of residents and favour the development of the city.
Thus, the Housing Policy Area has carried out accessibility and green area creation works in the five neighbourhoods of this district in Calle de Pan y Toros, to which 1.36 million euros have been allocated; the reconversion of the auditorium of the Plata y Castañar park into a multi-purpose space with the construction of new facilities and the improvement and rehabilitation of the pre-existing tracks; the creation of green spaces in Calle Islas and the sports facilities in Calle Ganados del Salobral. In addition, work is planned on Calle Anoeta and San Nicolás Arechavaleta, with an investment of more than four million euros.
