Grupo Villarroel (VG) and Ibérica Capital Partners (ICP) have reached an agreement to form a joint venture for the residential segment under the name Roel Homes, which takes into account Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria, according to a statement issued by both companies.
The Roel Homes project involves the creation of a real estate technology platform dedicated to the development of one million square metres of buildable residential properties that are "sustainable and efficient, upholding Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) principles at the institutional real estate level", according to both parties.
The new platform is expected to be operational in the second half of 2024 and will be led by Grupo Villarroel's director, Matías Villarroel, and Yves Horoit and Pablo Anderson, from the Ibérica Capital Partners team.
The statement says that special emphasis will be placed on environmental management, including energy efficiency strategies, renewable resources, waste reduction and green spaces. The social aspect focuses on fostering inclusive communities, promoting wellbeing and ensuring that development has a positive impact on local people. Governance practices are designed to ensure "transparency, accountability and ethical decision-making".

Ibérica Capital Partners (ICP), the Marbella and Madrid-based investment holding company with a regional focus on the southern coastal areas, plans to invest up to 100 million euros in individual residential real estate portfolios.
