As of the academic year 2022-23, Madrid will have a new residence hall. This project will be a reality thanks to an agreement signed between the Los Nogales Group and the Universidad a Distancia de Madrid (Udima), which will thus have its first affiliated center where it can provide accommodation for its university community and host teaching activities. The student residence, in the heart of the city, will also house students from other universities.
The future residence hall will be located at number 96 on Toledo Street, in the La Latina neighborhood, and will give a new use to La Paloma, the former social health center for the elderly of Grupo Los Nogales. At the beginning of the year, there was an incident on an adjoining farm that forced an evacuation in the area and immediately housed in two other group centers in the same neighborhood, where they have remained ever since. Likewise, the professionals from La Paloma were transferred to these centers to continue with their functions.
The building, of 4,000 sqm distributed in six heights and two basement floors, is close to various means of transport, a university campus, cultural and sports centers. The future center will have 84 rooms, most of them individual, and will have capacity for 106 students. Its facilities include common areas, study areas, gym, cinema, games room, coworking space, music room and a twenty-space car park. The renovation and adaptation works of the facilities are progressing at a good pace and their completion is scheduled for the next few months.
