Badi and Caterina have agreed to merge to create a flex living platform that will bring together corporate living, co-living and flexible stays. The deal, which is still pending, will result in a group with over €250 million in assets under management, which is expected to exceed 7,000 units over the next four years.
The expansion plan will initially focus on Madrid, Barcelona and Valencia through agreements with institutional investors and family offices. The new firm will cover everything from identifying and analysing opportunities to the day-to-day management of properties, with transactions ranging from €5 million to over €50 million.
The integration will combine Badi’s technology and sales channel with Caterina’s expertise as a manager of entire buildings used primarily for corporate accommodation. According to data provided by both companies, Badi’s marketplace has over five million registered users and around 350,000 active monthly users.
The merger will be accompanied by a capital increase led by Barlon Capital and Meridia, the major shareholders of Badi and Caterina respectively. The amount has not been disclosed, and the funds will be used to strengthen the team, develop the technology platform and acquire assets and new management mandates.
Carlos Pierre and Álvaro Córdoba, founders of Badi, will lead the company, while Meridia and Barlon Capital will retain significant shareholdings. Meridia has held a stake in Caterina since 2023.
The group also plans to be involved in the entry and exit of investors in the assets under management, which will expand its activities from operational management to the structuring of investments.
