PORTUGUESE MARKET SET TO GROW 30%, PREDICTS APEMIP

The Associação dos Profissionais e Empresas de Mediação Imobiliária de Portugal (APEMIP) (Association of Real Estate Professionals and Companies in Portugal) is confident that this year the Portuguese real estate market could grow in the order of 30%, said the President, Luís Lima, to the Lusa Agency.

The association leader says that the state should “let the market function” so that, in this way, “We will grow, because Portugal has great potential. It will be a good year for tourism, but also a good year for us», he continued, recalling that the tourist in Portugal “likes to be loyal and to acquire property”.

One of the greatest worries for the APEMIP continues to be the “Golden Visa” mechanism, believing that the government must streamline this process or there is a risk that the country will be without investment. Nonetheless, the specialist is optimistic, and hopes that this problem will lessen over the next few weeks.
