Fund manager Stoneshield plans to build a 100 MW data centre in San Fernando de Henares, an 800 million euro investment.
The data centre will be built on the site of the asset it bought about a year ago for 40 million euro from Indra XData Properties. Stoneshield is currently seeking potential partners for the project.
EjePrime recalled that Spain currently has a capacity of 100MW in data centres, and this number is expected to increase significantly in the coming years, especially in Madrid, with investments from major operators such as Google, Amazon, Microsoft, Meta or IBM. And the Spanish market is expected to absorb an investment of around 7 billion euros in data centres by 2026, predicted the Associación Española de Data Centers.
