The quantum computing start-up Qilimanjaro Quantum Tech is currently in a process of growth, which is why it has decided to expand its facilities and move to 1,929 sqm offices in the 22@ district of Barcelona. The operation has been carried out through the location service of Barcelona Activa, aimed at finding the best locations for the activity of the company, and the intermediation of the real estate consultant FORCADELL.
The leased space is located in a fully renovated multi-tenant office building with the necessary characteristics to respond to the expansion phase of Qilimanjaro, with an area of nearly 2,000 sqm for the development of its activity. The building is located in the area known as 22@ Nord, within the 22@ technology district, in one of the most powerful poles of attraction and retention of talent in the city.
"The first four years have been focused on training our teams and creating the first powerful business links, including the installation of the first quantum computer in Southern Europe," says Marta P. Estarellas, CEO of Qilimanjaro. "We are now entering a new phase of growth, expanding our teams and the services we want to offer our clients and, thanks to the collaboration with Barcelona Activa, we are moving our specialised quantum computing workshops and our offices to the heart of Barcelona, in a privileged space where we can continue to grow and develop as a unique disruptive company in Spain", she concludes. The change of location will allow Qilimanjaro to reach 100 people in 5 years.
According to Manel de Bes, Director of the Office Department of FORCADELL, "it is one of the most relevant operations of 22@ Nord so far this year. It is very good news for the revitalisation of the area, which has registered a first half of the year with fewer operations than the previous year". De Bes adds that "in the coming quarters, the northern area closest to the Diagonal will gradually consolidate with operations of these characteristics".
