International Workplace Group (IWG), the flexible workspace company with brands such as Spaces and Regus, has just opened two new flexible workspaces in Portugal, at a time when demand for hybrid work is accelerating rapidly.
The number of requests for spaces in the International Workplace Group's locations has risen sharply and these new openings will make it possible to meet the growing demand. Regus Dom João, in Amoreiras, and Spaces Oriente, in Parque das Nações, are the latest options for companies in Lisbon.
Regus Dom João is located in one of the best areas of the capital, served by good public transport and a motorway with connections to the rest of the metropolitan area. The neighbourhood is full of cafés, pastry shops, offices and shops. Located at Rua Dom João V 30, the new space has 18 offices, 1 meeting room and 9 coworking spaces. This opening is being carried out in partnership with Tykhe Lda, which chose the IWG flexible workspace platform.
Spaces Oriente is located on Avenida Aquilino Ribeiro Machado 8, in one of Lisbon's main business centres. This area is the gateway to the city, with visitors arriving from all over with the train station and airport nearby, and is also one of the most sought-after areas for the innovation and technology sectors. This workplace has 81 offices, 4 meeting rooms and 8 coworking spaces.
The building's owners decided to invest in International Workplace Group's platform to maximise the return on their real estate space, capitalising on the rapidly expanding demand for hybrid working. With an annual investment of around 59 million euros in its technology platform, International Workplace Group provides partners with access to all the company's expertise, as well as design support, sales and marketing capabilities.
The company will reach 21 centres in the country by the end of 2024
The company also announces 2 new management agreements that will result in new openings in different locations in Portugal this year. Regus Alcântara will soon open in Lisbon with 20 offices, 2 meeting rooms and 9 co-working centres and Regus Loulé will have 50 offices, 2 meeting rooms and 4 co-working centres. With these openings, the company will reach 21 locations in Portugal by the end of 2024 (2 Spaces, 1 HQ and 18 Regus). Next year, IWG will continue its growth trajectory, as it has already signed 4 new locations: Faro (Algarve), Bom Sucesso (Porto), Matosinhos and Laranjeiras (Lisbon).
Mark Dixon, CEO & Founder of International Workplace Group PLC, says that ‘we are establishing a stronger and much-needed presence in Lisbon, Portugal, with the latest openings. As important business centres, Regus Dom João and Spaces Oriente are excellent locations for us to drive forward our expansion plans. The need for high-quality flexible workspaces continues to grow as hybrid working becomes the norm. We are delighted to be working in partnership with the Tykhe Lda brand on a management agreement that will add a state-of-the-art workspace to their building.’
‘Our openings in Portugal come at a time when more and more companies are discovering that flexible working increases employee happiness and satisfaction while helping the environment. Our workplace model has also been proven to increase productivity and enable significant cost savings.’
‘Our partnership with IWG allows us to create innovative and flexible workspaces that enable individuals and businesses to thrive in the heart of our vibrant city. Together, we look forward to expanding our operations across the country to enable more businesses to grow in an optimised and productive working environment,’ commented Paul Hernaez, Founder of Tykhe Ld.
