The International Workplace Group (IWG) has strengthened its presence across the Iberian Peninsula with the opening of new OpenOffice flexible workspace centres in Spain and Portugal, as demand for hybrid working solutions continues to grow.
In Spain, the company has launched OpenOffice Sotogrande, its first flexible workspace centre in the province of Cádiz. Located in the Ribera del Marlin commercial centre in San Roque, the facility offers private offices, coworking areas, meeting rooms and administrative support services, targeting businesses, freelancers, hybrid teams and digital nomads operating in one of southern Europe's most established residential and leisure destinations.
Meanwhile, in Portugal, IWG has opened its first OpenOffice centre in Lisbon. Located in Campolide, one of the capital's main business districts, the new workspace comprises 544 sqm and accommodates 108 workstations, including private offices and coworking areas. The centre follows the launch of the brand's first Portuguese location in Amarante earlier this year and expands IWG's network to 28 flexible workspaces across the country.
Both openings form part of IWG's wider expansion strategy, which aims to bring flexible workspace solutions closer to where people live and work. The company continues to benefit from the increasing adoption of hybrid working models by both businesses and public institutions across Europe.
The group's growth has accelerated in recent months. During the first quarter of 2026, IWG signed 382 new centres worldwide, compared with 224 in the same period of the previous year. Its global network now comprises more than one million workspaces across 121 countries.
