Correos is selling its most emblematic buildings, a strategy that is due to a change in the business model and that mitigates, in part, the large losses of recent years. The last major operation has been the sale of the historic headquarters of Valencia, in the Plaza del Ayuntamiento to the Generalitat for 23.9 million, which was carried out on December 29.
The following may be of greater significance, as ABC newspaper reports that Correos, the Barcelona Free Zone Consortium and the Ada Colau city council are negotiating the sale and new use of the historic headquarters of Correos on Via Laietana, two adjoining buildings totaling 30,000 square meters. The sale would be around 50 million euros, although the figure is not closed, as it is a very complex operation, with different variables, and in which there are discrepancies, despite the fact that all parties practically took it for granted two years ago.
