Verdalia Bioenergy, a company active in the biomethane sector, has completed the move of its headquarters to the Tucumán building, a prominent space in the Madrid office market. This recently refurbished Colonial property has been chosen by Verdalia to continue its expansion and consolidate its commitment to sustainability in offices. The process has been advised by the consultancy firm Savills.
Located in the Campo de las Naciones area, the Tucumán building offers nearly 3,000 square metres of sustainable workspace, taking advantage of its design that includes terraces with panoramic views of Madrid and private gardens. It stands out for its BREEAM certification, which ensures high sustainability standards in building refurbishment.
Colonial has transformed the old building formerly occupied by Repsol and the Densu group into a modern business centre, promoting the reduction of energy consumption and the responsible use of resources. This space includes work areas and micro-mobility services, as well as rest areas, elements that are in line with current trends in the Madrid office market.
The office market in Madrid showed a reactivation trend during the second quarter of 2024, according to data from BNP Paribas Real Estate published at the beginning of August. In this period, the volume of office space contracted in Madrid reached 122,180 square metres, representing a decrease of 2.9% compared to the same period last year.
Despite the slight downturn in Madrid, activity remained active between April and June, during which period 138 new contracts were signed, although the average area contracted decreased to 885 sqm.
