French bank BNP Paribas bought two office buildings from Avenue, in Lisbon, next to Gare do Oriente, where it aims to centralize most of the group's entities operating in the country between 2024 and 2025.
The project, which meets the needs of the institution's new hybrid work model, the Smart Working, corresponds to 37,000 square meters of area and another 13,000 square meters of gardens accessible to the public, according to Eco. In addition, the space can accommodate 5,000 workers on a flexible basis, and the properties are still under construction. Also noteworthy is the sustainability of the project, which, in the buildings, will have a rainwater tank, photovoltaic panels, car parks with electric chargers and bicycle parking.
In a statement, the French bank announced the acquisition of the Aura and Echo buildings from Avenue, on the EXEO campus, where it will install its new headquarters, however it did not reveal the amount involved in the transaction, "the new headquarters aims to respond to the needs that arise of a model strategically implemented by a group of more than 7,100 employees, in an integrated manner, through the implementation of the most modern digital tools».
The space was developed by Avenue and an investment fund managed by Aermont Capital. The French group expects that «the move to the first building will take place in the first half of 2024, with the second move to take place the following year».
