Aticco is awarded the transformation of the Barcelona Stock Exchange building. The group of coworking spaces, through the company Cospace, has been awarded the project to convert the Barcelona stock exchange building into a financial hub.
According to the Government of Catalonia, the contract is to "promote, dynamise and boost the competitiveness of financial services based on technology, sustainable finance and investment entrepreneurship in Catalonia".
The new operator must convert five of the nine floors of the building, owned by the Generalitat and located at 19 Paseo de Gracia, into offices specialising in the promotion and development of projects in the field of finance, both national and international, and supporting emerging and growing companies.
This new hub is, according to the Generalitat, "a strategic project to position Barcelona as an international centre for sustainable finance" with the transformation of a building that is also the headquarters of Borsa de Barcelona, the Associació Barcelona Centre Financer Europeu (BCFE) and BCFE4S.
The space will host projects in the field of technological finance (fintech and insurtech); sustainable finance; venture capital and early-stage investment (business angels); crowdfunding and crowdlending; investment services, managers and funds; neobanks; digital payment systems; cybersecurity; big data and legal technologies (legaltech), among others.
The Generalitat will cede the use of floors 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 to the operator for a period of six years (from 2024 to 2029) in the form of a subsidy in kind and, in exchange, the company awarded the contract will have to carry out the actions detailed in the tender conditions and will pay the Catalan administration 224,240 euros per year.
