Amadeus, a company specialising in technology solutions for the travel sector, has secured a lease of 4,700 square metres in the Blue@ building, located in the 22@ district of Barcelona, according to Idealista News.
The Blue@, whose construction will be completed before the end of this year, is located in the epicentre of the 22@ business centre, at 115 Cristóbal de Moura street.
Amadeus, headquartered in Madrid, has decided to expand its presence in Catalonia with these new offices in Barcelona. The company will specifically occupy 4,700 square metres of the building, which has a total surface area of almost 12,000 square metres distributed over a ground floor and nine floors, offering open-plan spaces of between 800 and 1,800 square metres per floor. This transaction was brokered through JLL.
The Blue@ building has Leed Platinum, Well Gold and Well Healthy-Safety certifications, as well as WiredScore and features 2,236 square metres of green areas, private terraces, efficient plants and the ability to produce renewable energy and reuse rainwater.
Amadeus' expansion in Barcelona coincides with its recent acquisition of Voxel for €113 million, a transaction that may have influenced the decision to lease the nearly 5,000 square metres of office space. This purchase was a significant move in the Catalan digital sphere, as Voxel was one of the first companies to offer technology services to tourism companies.
Voxel, founded in Barcelona in 1998 and previously run by Xavier Ginesta, has now become part of Amadeus. Although Voxel is much smaller in comparison, it recorded a 22% growth in revenues last year, reaching 18 million euros, and aims to reach 23 million euros by 2024 under the backing of the other company.
