Mitiska REIM enters the Iberian market

Following their expansion strategy in Europe, Mitiska REIM is now aiming its capital at the Iberian market. Spain was the chosen entry point, with the recent acquisition of the retail park Portal Mediterraneo, 200 km from Barcelona, whilst now business opportunities in Portugal are being analysed after this first investment.

In line with plans to reinforce the Iberian presence of this leader in European investment in retail parks, Christophe Mouton is the new strong man inside Mitiska REIM. Assuming the role of Head of Portugal and Spain, this specialist will be responsible for analysis, development and management in partnership with retail park promoters and owners, with a special focus on new promotion projects for this kind of asset.

Before joining Mitiska REIM, Christophe spent time at Klépierre/Corio and ALtarea in Spain and in Germany, where he was CEO and was charged with the management of portfolios relevant to shopping centres. Previously, he had also been responsible for the launch and management of Retail Park Bouygues Inmobiliaria.

With a GLA of 12.400 m² divided between 11 rented stores and retailers such as Jysk, Bricorama, Norauto and Sprinter,  Portal Mediterraneo was acquired by Mitiska REIM by means of its new institutional fund First Retail International 2(FRI 2) and was the first in a series of acquisitions planned for this market in the following months.
