The Spanish company specialising in data centre design and construction is to open a technology hub in Bilbao (Basque Country). This decision has been made given the growth of the company which, after being acquired by the technology company Sener in 2023, has focused on its geographical expansion and internationalisation.
According to Quark, the new hub will incorporate fifty professionals from different fields of engineering on a global scale, such as architecture, civil, mechanical and electrical engineering, among others, over a period of two years, with the first incorporations expected in March this year.
The company's general manager, Ismael Martínez, has pointed out that "the sector has an outstanding potential to boost the economy of the regions in which its facilities are located".
With this opening, its parent company, Sener, thus reinforces its commitment to the Basque Country, recently exemplified by the decision to locate its next industrial production and engineering services centre for the aerospace market with a surface area of 8,000 square metres in Zamudio, with an initial investment of more than 25 million euros, which will employ more than three hundred highly qualified professionals in the coming years.
With its aim of expansion, Quark has won its first contracts in France and Germany and has opened an office in Catalonia to develop two new projects in the region for two of the main players in the data centre sector. These latest projects in Catalonia represent an investment of 160 million euros and are in addition to the project for Panattoni in Cerdanyola del Vallès, with 68,000 square metres and an investment of 300 million euros.
