Prologis is expanding its offer in the Barcelona logistics market. The company has launched a last-mile logistics asset located just 14 kilometers from the center of Barcelona, at Prologis Park Sant Boi, with strategic access to the C-32 highway.
The building has a total area of more than 7,000 square meters, of which 5,700 square meters are dedicated to storage functions, 275 square meters to offices on the first floor and approximately 1,000 square meters of mezzanine floor, where the toilets and changing rooms are located, in addition to a flexible open space to meet any other needs.
This last-mile logistics platform is expected to be available to a future tenant in the last quarter of the year. Marketing will be carried out by the consulting firms JLL and Savills.
Adriana Gorri, Director of Markets at JLL Spain, points out that «the asset, which will be available in the last quarter of the year, is unique in the market due to its proximity to Barcelona and its strategic location: less than 20 minutes from the center of Barcelona and with easy access to the C-32. It also has the BREEAM Excellent seal, which highlights the sustainability and quality of the project».
Gloria Valverde, director of industrial-logistics at Savills in Barcelona, adds that «in addition to logistics space in an environment with almost zero availability, this project adds value through a new sustainable development that recovers an obsolete and abandoned space. In addition to its functionality for urban distribution, its location at the gateway to the city of Barcelona is perfect for housing a corporate headquarters that requires high quality facilities and commercial aesthetics».
For his part, Cristian Oller, VP, Country Manager of Prologis Spain comments that «with this new building in Prologis Park Sant Boi we will reinforce a park fully adapted to the logistics needs of the 21st century. At Prologis, we remain committed to the conversion of spaces, which allows us to develop excellent logistics warehouses in the first crowns of large cities such as Barcelona and Madrid, in addition to meeting the demand in a context of shortage of logistics land, especially in Barcelona».
