Olicargo leases a new built logistics complex from Aquila Capital

Olicargo, a logistics operator based in Trofa, has taken a 20-year lease on the Gandra North Green Logistics Park logistics complex, located in Gandra, in the Greater Porto area. Developed by Green Logistics, Aquila Group's logistics business unit, the state-of-the-art logistics park, with an area of 16,570 square metres, was recently handed over to Olicargo.

This project, which marks Green Logistics' first foray into the northern region of Portugal, reinforces its commitment to building sustainable infrastructures. Although the value of the investment has not been officially revealed, in May 2023, the company told Grupo Iberinmo that the figure was close to 17 million euros.

The Gandra North Green Logistics Park, located on a 40,000 square metre plot in Paredes, benefits from a privileged logistical location, with excellent connections to Porto (25 km), Porto Airport (26 km) and the Port of Leixões (29 km). The A41 motorway is just 650 metres away, providing easy access to the main roads, including the A1 to Lisbon and the A3 to Galicia.

The Gandra North Green Logistics Park was built following the most demanding efficiency and sustainability criteria and is expected to be awarded the BREAM Very Good certification. This particularly reflects Green Logistics' commitment to energy efficiency, sustainable water use and waste management. The infrastructure includes a water retention basin, permeable paving to facilitate natural water infiltration and infrastructure that promotes sustainable transport, including charging stations for electric vehicles and bicycle parking.

Upon completion of its construction, this logistics asset was sold to Aquila Capital's Aquila Capital Southern European Logistics Fund (ACSEL) in September 2024. RPE, a property capital markets consultancy with a focus on southern Europe, acted as advisor on this transaction.
