The Corum XL real estate investment fund, owned by the French asset management company Corum, has just announced the purchase of Nobre's logistics center in Rio Maior. Neither the value of the business nor the previous owner were disclosed.
This industrial property has a total of 9,500 sqm, and was built in 2011. It functions as a storage, logistics and distribution operation center for Nobre's production for Portugal and abroad. The company has a long-term lease.
In a statement, Corum said that this deal "strengthens its presence" in Portugal. José Gavino, director of Corum in Portugal, considers that «this investment is a perfect example of our orientation towards the real economy, helping the development of companies that our investors are well aware of. We believe in the recovery of the Portuguese economy and in the capacity of national companies».
In the same statement, he also said that «with this acquisition we have diversified our portfolio, one of Corum's main growth strategies. We are very pleased with this transaction, incorporating an asset that once again meets one of Corum's investment requirements, which is to be leased by companies with financial capacity and that bring stability to its occupation».
In this operation, RPE Portugal acted on behalf of the seller (unidentified), and Worx accompanied Corum.
Pedro Valente, Head of Capital Markets at Worx, comments that «in our opinion, this is an excellent deal carried out by Corum, which accepted our challenge to analyze the operation, allowing us to accompany it in this acquisition. This asset is clearly strategic for Nobre which, added to the company's credibility and financial stability, makes this a very interesting investment for Corum».
In turn, Tim Seconde, Head of Capital Markets at RPE, notes that «this transaction clearly shows investors' confidence in the economic recovery and the growing strength of the Portuguese logistics market.» He considers that «this sector is a key target with regard to the risk curve for large international investors and we expect to see more transactional activity in the next 12 months».
Specializing in commercial real estate investment, Corum has been in Portugal since 2019. Its tenants are Pingo Doce or Grupo Rumos.
