Newdock has reached an agreement with the compensation board of Los Ahijones to acquire 175,000 sqm of logistics land, the largest area for this purpose there.
Specifically, it is about eight plots, where it plans to develop nearly 100,000 sqm of state-of-the-art logistics facilities to serve the city of Madrid. Assets that will have "the most ambitious standards in sustainability and social commitment", in line with the company's global commitment to ESG.
"It is a unique location, located in one of the most important sectors of residential growth in the Community of Madrid, and with a very unique proximity to the city center. Its direct connection with the M-45 ring road and with the corridor Mediterráneo A-3 gives it a privileged location to meet the demand of our customers", says Fátima Sáez del Cano, CEO of Newdock.
The objective of Goldman Sachs AM's platform for investment, development and management of logistics and industrial assets in Spain and Portugal is to invest more than 1,000 million between the two countries. Of this amount, it already has about 700 million committed.
Currently, it has nine projects in different prime logistics areas in Spain, to develop 750,000 sqm of gross leasable area. His first project, recently completed, is located in Carpetania (Getafe) and is fully leased. And those in Malaga and Illescas are in the advanced phase of construction, where they have two warehouses and a 120,000 sqm plot for turnkey projects.
