Mountpark opens up to new markets. The American company specialising in the acquisition and development of large logistics assets for rental by large companies has closed the purchase of a 92,000 square metre site in El Pla de Santa Maria, Tarragona, marking its first operation in the logistics market in Catalonia. The plan includes the development of a 56,000 square metre complex, which can be divided into two separate structures of 28,000 square metres each.
The strategic location of this site in Tarragona ensures a strategic connection to the region's transport network, as it is positioned on the corridor between Barcelona, Zaragoza and Madrid, less than one kilometre from the AP2 motorway and 36 kilometres from Tarragona. This city is part of the Mediterranean Corridor and has high-quality port facilities.
The future building, which will have 56 loading bays, will be developed according to BREEAM Outstanding certification standards to guarantee the sustainability of the project and the well-being of the users. In line with Mountpark's environmental policy, it will include A-level energy efficiency measures and photovoltaic panels with a capacity of 560 kWh.
Leandro Greblo, country manager of Mountpark Iberia, said: "The acquisition of this plot of land in Tarragona marks an important milestone for Mountpark in Catalonia, a market that offers endless opportunities. With this new asset we will guarantee our future tenants a first class logistics building, as well as contributing to the creation of employment and wealth in the region".
This project in the province of Tarragona will increase Mountpark's portfolio in Spain to a total of 245,000 square metres. In addition to its new presence in Tarragona, the company maintains several logistics platforms in Illescas (Toledo), collaborating with leading logistics and commercial firms.
