Mileway has completed the comprehensive refurbishment of a 20,000 sqm logistics warehouse located in La Garena, Alcalá de Henares, in the Community of Madrid, where it has renovated both the interior facilities and the outdoor areas to adapt the property to various logistics and industrial operations.
The property, which is being marketed by CBRE and Invertica, is situated in the Corredor del Henares, with direct access to the A-2 and approximately 30 kilometres from Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas Airport – a location that enables it to support last-mile operations, as well as regional and national distribution.
The works have included the refurbishment of the façade, the roof and the floor slabs, as well as the upgrading of the loading bays, the manoeuvring area, the access points and the perimeter fencing. The fire protection system has also been updated in line with current regulations, enabling high-risk activities to be carried out and broadening the potential uses of the property.
The site now has 64 loading and unloading bays for lorries and light vehicles. Inside, the warehouse and offices have been refurbished, with new air-conditioning and lighting systems installed, as well as a lift to improve accessibility to the administrative building.
The refurbishment includes photovoltaic panels for self-consumption and charging points for electric vehicles, alongside other measures designed to reduce energy consumption. Mileway expects the property to achieve BREEAM Very Good certification.
