Pepco has formalised the lease of a logistics platform in the Cabanillas Park II business park, located in Cabanillas del Campo, Guadalajara. This agreement has been negotiated with Merlin Properties, the company that owns the complex, and is part of the retailer's expansion strategy in Southern Europe, as part of its growth plan in the Iberian Peninsula.
The property in question, scheduled to be occupied by Pepco in the third quarter of the year, is located in a strategic area in the Corredor del Henares, an important logistics hub in the peninsula, northwest of Madrid. Its position is advantageous due to its proximity to main communication routes, such as the A-2 and R-2 motorways and the M-50 ring road, being located 48 kilometres from the centre of Madrid and 35 kilometres from the airport.
The logistics warehouse, which covers 47,429 square metres, is designed according to high quality and sustainability standards, as evidenced by its LED lighting system, its photovoltaic panels for self-consumption and its LEED Gold Certification.
The lease will help Pepco consolidate its operations in this geographic area, optimising its storage capacity and operations. It will also mark the inauguration of its first logistics centre in Southern Europe.
Adriana Gorri, Director of Markets at JLL, the consultancy firm that advised on the transaction, commented that the warehouse selected by Pepco fully meets the client's requirements, highlighting its strategic location, accessibility, commitment to sustainability and the possibility of future expansion in the same complex.
