Logista, one of the largest logistics operators in southern Europe, announced the purchase last Friday of 100% of the refrigerated and frozen food transport and logistics activity of the Carbó Collbatallé Group, which will continue to operate its assets.
The acquired group is based in Barcelona and currently has a network of 14 logistics platforms in Spain, approximately 45,000 square metres with 210,000 cubic metres of bi-temperature chambers that allow for the storage of 25,000 pallets in frozen and/or refrigerated storage.
Through this acquisition, Logista strengthens the catalogue of services it offers its customers by incorporating complementary temperature-controlled capacities, mainly in the frozen range.
At the end of 2021, the acquired company had a fleet of 57 tractor units and employed around 360 direct workers. During this period, it recorded consolidated sales of approximately 47 million euros and EBITDA of 11 million euros.
The new agreement includes the acquisition of 100% of the capital of Carbó Collbatallé for 51 million euros, a transaction that is expected to be concluded during the first days of October 2022.
