IBA Capital Partners has started the construction of a logistics warehouse in Villadangos del Páramo, León, as part of its agreement with Grupo Día to support its expansion in the coming years. This project, which covers an area of 64,000 square metres, is designed to meet the logistics needs of the food operator in the northwest of the Iberian Peninsula.
The infrastructure will include refrigeration facilities and will use state-of-the-art materials with the aim of meeting the highest technical and operational standards in the food logistics sector and obtaining the main sustainability certifications (ESG).
The start of the works, assigned to Grupo Bertolín, reinforces the distribution capacity of Grupo Día, which is committed to proximity shops in order to improve delivery times and the efficiency of its supply chain.
Jesús Valderrama and Thierry Julienne, founding partners of IBA Capital Partners, said: ‘The launch of this project marks an important milestone in our foray into the logistics sector. We are convinced that this first warehouse, equipped with advanced technology and designed to offer maximum efficiency, will be a key asset in the expansion strategy of Grupo Día, to whom we are very grateful for the trust they have placed in us’.
With the commencement of this project, IBA Capital Partners is aligning itself with Grupo Día's expansion plan, initiating a plan that includes the development of several warehouses in the Iberian Peninsula, with an initial target of 200,000 square metres of gross leasable area.
Recently, the management company has been involved in several significant real estate transactions in Spain. The founding partners have expressed their intention to significantly expand their presence in the logistics sector, without neglecting other areas such as retail and the office sector. In Madrid, where they own large properties, they have renovated a large part of their office portfolio, making investments to adapt to ESG regulations and improve the efficiency of the space for their tenants. In addition, they plan to double their portfolio of assets under management in the coming years.
