Hispavima, a company dedicated to the development of real estate projects, has started the construction of a new cold logistics center in the area known as "Megapark" in Dos Hermanas, Seville. This will be the second project built by Hispavima for Conway The Convenience Company, a logistics operator that will lease the facilities for a long period of time after completion of construction. The international real estate consulting firm JLL has advised Conway on this project.
The warehouse, which stands on a 10,868-square-meter plot recently acquired by Hispavima, will have a built-up area of 5,382 square meters and a clear height of 14.5 meters, allowing the storage of up to five levels of pallets. Designed as a high turnover distribution center, it will include frozen and positive cold storage areas and a sector for ambient temperature products for the HORECA channel and convenience stores. The development of the project has complied with environmental sustainability criteria, obtaining the BREEAM Very Good certification and will have photovoltaic installations to supply 50% of the energy required for the refrigeration systems.
Jorge Truchado, Hispavima's director of logistics and land, has confirmed that the construction of the center has begun after obtaining the building permit, with a commitment of delivery by November 2024.
This is Hispavima's second project in Andalucía, a region where the company has invested more than 26 million euros between completed projects and projects under development, consolidating it as a key point in the logistics segment, especially for the HORECA channel.
For his part, Pedro Giménez, CEO of Conway, explains that “with the development of the new high turnover distribution center in Seville we take another step forward in our ambitious plan to transform our network. This plan responds to the needs of our customers and their development plans, which will also allow us to materialize growth opportunities in our business sectors".
