Newdock is the name of the new logistics platform for the real estate arm of Goldman Sachs, which proposes to invest more than 1,000 million euros over the next 3 years in Spain and Portugal.
Active since the beginning of this year, Newdock already has seven projects in its portfolio, three of them under construction, in several prime logistical locations in Spain, which will represent 500,000 square meters of gross leasable area, in an initial investment of 400 million euros. According to EjePrime, one of them, located in Getafe, Madrid, should be completed in December.
Other projects will be developed in a turnkey model for operators with specific needs or on a speculative basis.
Javier Solís, responsible for Goldman Sachs Asset Management Real Estate for Southern Europe, comments that «Newdock was created with the objective of following the main national and international operators, responding to their logistical needs in the Iberian Peninsula». Cited by the Spanish newspaper, the official says that "the market will be increasingly demanding in terms of quality, efficiency and sustainability standards for logistical assets."
