GLP has signed a new lease agreement with De Rijke España, a logistics company specialising in the storage and distribution of industrial chemicals, to be installed at G-Park Santa Perpetua, located 30 minutes from Barcelona. Through this agreement, the Dutch logistics operator will consolidate its previous operations in the Catalan region into one strategic location.
G-Park Santa Perpetua, located in the Vallés Occidental region, has been selected by De Rijke to enhance its operations in Spain. The choice of this location allows the company to centralise its operations, merging its warehouses and activities to improve efficiency in loading capacity, warehousing and logistics services, and promoting more dynamic and effective management.
Storage capacity will increase by more than 40% with the 14,348 square metre logistics facility, from 9,000 to 13,000 locations. The project will also have a positive impact on job creation, with De Rijke expanding its team with multi-skilled employees specialised in warehousing and transport.
Its location, close to Barcelona, provides quick access to the AP-7 motorway and several dual carriageways, facilitating connections to essential infrastructure and to the international transport network via the Josep Tarradellas Barcelona - El Prat international airport.
The facility has 15 loading bays, a height of 11.7 metres, less than 50% occupancy, parking and 600 square metres of office space. This warehouse, the first LPG warehouse in Spain to obtain BREEAM Excellent certification, is equipped to support a photovoltaic project, has LED lighting and a BMS system for monitoring and optimising energy consumption.
