The manager specialized in logistics and industrial assets has acquired from Catal Inver a 40,000 square meter plot in Esparreguera, in the province of Barcelona, for the speculative promotion of a logistics platform, according to a statement released today by the company.
Clarion will carry out the development on the plot of a logistics warehouse of about 20,000 square meters, located 45 kilometers northwest of the center of Barcelona and adjacent to the A-2 motorway. The area is characterized by the scarce availability of industrial space and future development is limited by the orography of the region.
The construction of the ship will begin imminently and its completion is scheduled for the first quarter of 2023. The asset will have a Breeam sustainability certification. The Spanish promoter Grupo Lar will act as responsible for the Project Management.
With this acquisition, Clarion further expands its presence in Spain, where it owns, manages and is developing a total of 18 assets covering more than 363,000 square meters, in the different areas of Madrid, Barcelona, Seville and Zaragoza.
"This acquisition is a unique opportunity to develop a high-performance logistics space in the Barcelona region, characterized by the limited availability of logistics space", comments Alistair Calvert, CEO of Clarion Partners Europe. carrying out the projects in a speculative way highlights our confidence in the future demand for modern industrial space and in the prospects for growth in rents in the area ", concludes the manager.
