The joint venture formed by Brookfield and Logistik Service has announced the signing of an agreement for the development of a new logistics warehouse in Alhama de Murcia for ESP Solutions. The project, which is scheduled to start construction in early January, represents a new turnkey operation in the Spanish logistics sector.
The project will be carried out in two phases on a plot of 85,000 square metres. The first phase includes the construction of a 20,000 square metre cold logistics platform, designed to house 35,000 pallets and equipped with forty loading and unloading docks. The facilities will be equipped with state-of-the-art refrigeration and freezing systems, complying with the highest quality standards and focusing on sustainability and respect for the environment.
The second stage of the project involves the construction of an additional warehouse with a minimum surface area of 20,000 square metres. Upon completion, these facilities will be positioned as one of the most advanced cold storage projects in southern Europe, with a total capacity of 80,000 pallets and one hundred loading and unloading docks, thus expanding the joint venture's portfolio.
Proequity, a real estate consultancy firm that also participated in the formation of the joint venture between Brookfield and Logistik Service, acted as advisor in this transaction. Gómez Acebo & Pombo and Garrigues were also involved in the transaction to provide the necessary legal advice.
