BeLog has completed the acquisition of a 15,922-sqm industrial site from Brownfield in Terrassa, a location the company considers “strategic”, situated within Barcelona’s inner ring.
The project will involve the development of a state-of-the-art warehouse with a gross lettable area of around 11,600 sqm, with construction due to begin shortly.
The land acquired stands out for its prime location, situated some 30 kilometres from Barcelona and boasts efficient connections to key infrastructure such as the port and the airport, as well as direct access to the C-58, one of the area’s main transport routes.
The transaction forms part of BeLog’s growth strategy in Barcelona, an environment characterised by limited land availability.
“Despite the scarcity of available land and investment opportunities in Barcelona, we continue to leverage our local network and development expertise to seek out, acquire and develop attractive off-market opportunities in strategic locations,” explained Xavier Novell, partner and director of operations at BeLog.
“This transaction confirms the market’s interest in well-located logistics assets, capable of meeting the current demand for efficient and well-connected spaces,” said Gerard Plana, Director of Industrial-Logistics Department of Forcadell. The executive added that the project “combines distinctive factors in terms of location, scale and development potential, in an environment where availability remains limited”.
With this acquisition, BeLog’s portfolio now stands at nearly 550,000 sqm across 27 logistics assets that it owns or manages, less than three years after its establishment.
For this transaction, the company was advised by Baker McKenzie, IDP Ingeniería, Medio Ambiente y Arquitectura, Forcadell Consultores Inmobiliarios and Grupo Getiona-t.
