Green Logistics by Aquila Capital has delivered to Dia the first warehouse built for the Illescas Green Logistics Parks project, in Toledo, which represents a total investment of 50 million.
With 68,000 sqm, the new center of the supermarket chain is the largest that the company will have in Spain and it will concentrate the activity of several warehouses that it previously had distributed around Madrid and will provide service to its entire network of stores in the country.
"The Illescas logistics center is the first milestone of the new generation of Dia España warehouses, specially created to adapt to the current and future needs that we have as a company", said Ricardo Álvarez, CEO of Dia España.
Dia will operate these new facilities on a rental basis, which will be owned by the logistics division of Aquila Capital, and which are part of the Illescas Green Logistics Parks project, a logistics development of 472,878 sqm spread over six plots within the Iberum Central Platform, located in the Toledo municipality of Illescas.
For the developers and owners of the project, the delivery of this warehouse "represents a great milestone for the company, as it is the first Green Logistics project we have completed in Spain. Illescas Green Logistics Park is a key development within our expansion strategy in the logistics sector, not only because of its size, but also because of its excellent location within a logistics hub as important as Illescas", concludes Miguel López, general manager of AQ Acentor, real estate development partner of Aquila Capital in Spain.
